Prepping for the Cold

Friday, September 2, 2016

I don't know about you but as soon as I feel the fall chill [yes, it was 70 and breezy today thank you Jesus]  I am already starting to plan.  Last year we got hit with this HUGE blizzard!  We were snowed in for a week.  It was a blast, but I was ill prepared and scrambling the day before trying to find snow pants for the boys and winter gloves for me.  Of course I had no luck since everything was sold out.

This year I'm planning ahead and with the Labor Day sale this weekend it's the perfect time to stock up for fall and winter.  I know at some point there will be snow and I will be ready. Use the coupon code LABOR25 and get an extra 25% off clothing and accessories at TARGET!  These snow pants for the little man are already a great price and I'll happily take the extra discount.

I also had my eye on this adorable floral bomber jacket but didn't want to pay full price, you feel me?!  It will go perfect with my new booties.  I love the color of this cardigan so it was a must.  I love the color and it's perfect for fall.  If you're looking for new jeans, they are all 20%.

If you're a planner like myself and like to buy clearance items for the next year, then check out some of the great summer clearances!  A great deal for an extra 25% off.  Order online HERE to pick up in the store or ship it to your house and don't forget LABOR25 for that discount.

Anyone else as excited as I am for this upcoming winter?!

Until next time.  Toodles!

Making Play Doh

Thursday, September 1, 2016

With big sis in school it's been just little man and I getting some good ol' quality mommy and me time.  I've been digging through some of the old crafts I did with his sister at this age and stumbled upon our play doh recipe.

This little guy already loves cooking with mama and he ABSOLUTELY loves play doh so this was a win win.  I tried a few things differently this time so here is the how to to make two and a half cups of dough.

Ingredients
1 1/2 cups of flour
3/4 cup of salt
1 1/2 cup of water
1 TB vegetable oil
1/2 TB cream of tarter
Food Coloring
Almond or Peppermint extract [opt]

1. Throw all the ingredients into the pot.  I am making one colored batch so I added the food coloring now.  If you want to make multiple colored doh go to this tutorial.

2. Slowly heat it until it starts to come together.  I probably could have added more color but it worked out.

3.  Cook until the mush turns into a doh and is difficult to mix.  The longer you leave it on the heat the stiffer the doh gets.

4.  Knead the doh a few times and form it into a ball.  It's ready to be used!  You can store it in a zip lock or use those old Play Doh containers.

He loves it as much as big sister did when she was a little one.

Can someone tell me why time has to go so fast?!

She may be a big girl now but when she comes home from school she still loves to sit at the table with us and play a little play doh.

Big mess, endless fun.

Feel free to pin.

Until next time.  Toodles!

Back to School Teacher Gift Ideas

Friday, August 26, 2016

I wish I could say I came up with this idea myself but I got it from my friend Dannielle who happens to be a teacher and blogger at Quite Dainty.  Two moms from her classroom showered her with gifts before school even started.  What a blessing!  I loved the idea so much I had to do it this year.

I scoured Pinterest for ideas and pinned tons on my Room Mom Shenanigans board and ended up getting this bundle of goodies.

I first got some extra supplies because I know teachers can always use them.

Then a few things just for her.  Hand sanitizers, colorful pens, a Starbucks gift card, Post Its.

The printable for the pens is from this site.  So cute!

We also added in the teachers favorite things printable that you can find HERE.
 Teacher Printable

I got this purple crate from Walmart for a buck and put everything in.  You can find the welcome back printable HERE

Delivered by this cutie and we are all set for this school year!

I can't believe how fast these little munchkins grow.  I'm going to go sit in my corner and cry now.  Hope you're having a great back to school time!

Feel free to pin.

Until next time.  Toodles!

Teacher's Favorite Things Printable

Wednesday, August 24, 2016

The day I have been counting down has finally come.... back to school!  The beginning of this season brings out the crazy in me.  I'm soaking every single moment in!  I love first day of school outfits, school supplies, back to school nights, being in the classroom.

Before last years meet and greet I found a great questionnaire asking for the teachers favorites.  I had hoped it would show the teacher I was interested in being the room mom but it ended up being super duper helpful.  I couldn't find one I really loved so I created one and you can download it HERE

I may not be looking to become room mom this year but this sheet is a must.  It's a great way to let the teacher know you care about them and so handy for Christmas, their birthday, and teacher appreciation week.

Are you ready to send the kids back to school?

Until next time.  Toodles!
